Elie Saab Le Parfum Eau De Toilette

I received the samples of Elie Saab Le Parfum from the Latest in Beauty Box that I ordered last month, since then I've used them both up completely because, as it turns out, I really love this perfume.

The Claims

"Elie Saab Le Parfum opens the doors to the Couturier’s universe and offers a new way of wearing the exceptional. The fragrance opens with a soaring harmony of delicately acidulated Mandarin blossoms. The heart unfolds into a veil of radiant crystalline white flowers, supported by Gardenia and Orange blossom, and the delicious Rose Honey softness of the base envelops the skin like precious chiffon."

There's a lot of flowery language used to describe this perfume, 'notes of orange blossom', 'jasmine at the heart', with a base of 'cedar, patchouli and rose honey accord'. All of which sounds great, but for someone like me, is not very useful. I do know I can't smell any patchouli in it, I love patchouli and know the smell of it well.. It is not in this perfume.

To me the starting scent is a fresh, clean, bright floral citrus note, I suspect that'll be the orange blossom. I really enjoy the crispness of it, it makes me feel like I'm about to go frolicking in the fields with the lambs in a sun dress and big sun hat.

It softens out after maybe ten minutes or so, coming into its own as a musky, honeyed, warmer scent that lingers all day on my skin.

It's certainly a sweet, soft feminine scent which to be honest I never thought I'd be a big fan of, but this is just so light, fresh and delicious I can't help but love it. To the point I'm sniffing my wrists constantly and presenting them to my colleagues to sniff, much to their bemusement. I particularly enjoy the drydown, because although I cannot smell patchouli in this (mores the pity) I do note the ceder as the day draws to a close and it has faded to a sweetened woody scent that's just comforting.

Needless to say I will be buying a bottle of Le Parfum before long, it has been out since 2011 so would be easy to find in most stores that sell perfume and tends to retail at around £38 for 30ml, £58 for 50ml and £78 for 90ml.

What's your favourite perfume, I'd love to hear about it so drop me a note in the comments below.

  1. Yes I really like Elie Saab I bought a bottle of it after I tried a sample of it. Think it was either here http://www.wowfreestuff.co.uk/free-elie-saab-girl-of-now-fragrance/ or http://www.latestfreestuff.co.uk/free-perfume/free-elie-saab-perfume/ Where I applied, but it was a very generous sized sample.
