Getting nostalgic for a moment about my old blogging life, I realised after searching for a good beauty box that I was there at the birth of beauty boxes in this country. I probably was even amongst the first to sign up for Glossybox. I remember the debates between bloggers about how good, or bad it would be. Then the initial hiccups, the lovers, the haters, the mehs.
And now five years on, there are so many different beauty boxes to choose from, catering from the younger generation (
So Susan) to those on a budget (
Glossybox,
You Beauty Discovery,
Birchbox) to those who don't mind spending more but don't want a monthly subscription (
Latest in Beauty,
U Feel Unique) Even specialising in certain areas such as nails (
Nail Box) or for vegans (
LoveLula) or those who want organic products (
Naturisimo) and that's not even an exhaustive list.
There were so many in fact that when I decided I wanted to try them again, the only way I managed to make a decision about which box to buy was the fact that
Latest in Beauty allowed you to choose your own contents. Less surprise and more delight for me, having had a few too many boxes in the past containing makeup products that were completely wrong for my skin tone. It also isn't subscription based which is ideal for just trying it out, as no one wants to sign up for something to discover they hate it.
Anyway, putting nostalgia aside for a moment I just wanted to quickly run through what I had in my box;
